Nutmeg Powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt – to taste

PROCEDURE

  1. Melt the butter in a small sauce pan.
  2. Add the flour and mix well.
  3. Add the milk or heavy cream and keep stirring until the consistency is slightly thick, like a thick sauce.
  4. Add pepper, nutmeg powder and salt and stir well.
  5. Use for any Italian dish.

SERVING/USING SUGGESTIONS

  1. You can use Bechamel sauce for lasagna, pasta or even in noodles to give a creamy, white sauce texture.
  2. You can even serve this sauce as a dipping sauce for breads.

TIPS

  1. Using 1% milk would make it less fatty compared to using heavy cream.
  2. You can skip the nutmeg powder if you aren’t a big fan of the strong spicy aroma.
